Sweet Sixteen? :)

Thursday, August 14th, 2014.
Hello! IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!! :) Finally sixteen & I'm super excited!!
I wasn't able to have a party because I had a band performance and I didn't want to plan/host a party. But surprisingly, I enjoyed myself a lot :)
So my parents got me a pretty cake with pandas and chocolate palm trees and a mango rose. I'm honestly not a big fan of cakes, but I fell in love with this cake. It was so cute and yummy and it was perfect. But because I had a very busy schedule on the day of my birthday, we actually cut the cake the night before.

Okay, so when I woke up on Thursday, I received a text from my boyfriend asking me to get ready by 10AM and that he's taking me out to breakfast. Which was a cute idea, until he accidentally overslept and picked me up at 11 instead. LOL. Besides that, I thought the whole idea was pretty sweet and I was so excited to start the day with him. We went to a small cafe in our area and ordered what we considered 'american breakfast'. I got a kale smoothie and a breakfast bagel with eggs, cheese, and ham. Nathan got a very berry smoothie and a breakfast croissant with eggs, cheese, and sausage. I thought the price was reasonable and it was VERY filling.

The reason I wasn't able to have a party like most other girls do for their 16th birthday was because I had a performance. I am involved in my school's marching band, and for the past five years, my school has been competing to be the best parade band in SoCal. Today, we debuted our parade march for this season and holyshizzles do we sound good. I'm genuinely excited for this season because I believe we can kick some butt. We have such an amazing group of people this season and every single person is absolutely amazing. I started marching band as a freshmen not knowing too many people, not being able to play at a high level and had no idea how hard marching was, but I was glad I had the best section leaders to guide me to where I am today. I'm so glad that as a junior, I am now a section leader and having such a great flute group. I met some amazing people and learned a ton and when Mr. A says that this will be the highlight of my high school life, sometimes, I truly believe that it will. Being here sounded like a horrible way to spend a girl's 16th, but honestly, it felt like a huge party I didn't have to plan, which was amazing!

A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who said Happy Birthday, to everyone who made me smile and influenced my life in one way or another. I love love love love love you all and I couldn't ask for better people in my life.

Santa Monica Pier/ Third Street Promenade

Saturday, June 28th, 2014.
I haven't done anything fun except take SAT classes this summer, so I was really looking forward to this trip. Started the day off by picking up Irena & being stuck in traffic for two hours. sigh.

I paid for reserved parking the night before, because trying to find parking on a Saturday is a big pain in the butt. It was a small public parking, and they parked the car for us. Also, it was right around the corner from Third Street and a five minute walk to the pier.
I got pretty bummed when we arrived and it was all cloudy. It was windy but when the wind stopped, it got stuffy really quick. On the other hand, good vibes and great street shows made it a million times better.
I was really excited to go on the pier, but honestly, it wasn't that exciting. Maybe it was the weather, or maybe I just got a headache from hearing all the kids scream on rides. Prices weren't bad. $6 for rides and $4 for games. We decided not to go on any of the rides or play the games, so we took photo booth pictures and got dipping dots ice cream before heading down to the beach.
Two failed polaroids....

The beach itself was amazing. The water wasn't freezing cold and the waves weren't huge.

We decided to go under the pier to take pictures... but there were some SHADY people... other than that, it was super pretty!
huge thanks to the person who took the polaroid for us!!
and the sun FINALLY came out at 6pm...
For dinner, we decided to go to Johnny Rockets... nothing special, but we got cool ketchup drawings... and lots of foooooood. ♥‿♥

Sunset was covered by clouds... I was pretty disappointed... but I guess it was just a bad day.
So we went back to the pier....
meet my momma! :)

and pictures with the famous santa monica sign....

Third Street Promenade is spectacular at night. Lots of people, music, street shows, and good vibes.
Bought my first ever Brandy Melville clothing, but it was just a plain grey tee. x)

Overall, it was a wonderful day spent with my best friend and the best parents in the world. I was dead tired and slept the whole day Sunday but it was all worth the unforgettable memories.
